Privacy policy

This policy covers nyen.cc, run by the NYEN project. The site has no accounts or advertising. It uses Google Analytics to count visits, and the server keeps a standard access log.

  • Accounts, sign-ups, newsletters and contact forms. The site has none.
  • Advertising networks, tracking pixels and social widgets. The site loads none.
  • Wallet addresses, transactions, token IDs, NyenIDs, artwork and files. None of these go to Google Analytics.

Every page loads Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-Q89RX4F3TC. Google processes the data for the NYEN project under Google's data processing terms.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set until you press Accept. Before that, and after Reject, Google receives cookieless pings with the page path, the time and your browser type. Google states these are not linked to a returning visitor.

Elsewhere, analytics cookies are set on your first visit. Reject deletes them. Google then receives only cookieless pings.

Purpose: count visits and see which pages are used. Advertising signals are off in every region, and the data is not used for ads.

  • Sent: the page path without its query string, the referring page, approximate location derived from your IP address, device type, browser, screen size and session timing. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
  • Not sent: wallet addresses, transactions, token IDs, NyenIDs, artwork or file names. On /mint and /nft only the page view is sent.
  • Retention: Google keeps event data for 2 months. Google Signals and ad personalization are off.
  • Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • _ga and _ga_Q89RX4F3TC on .nyen.cc: first-party Google Analytics cookies, kept for up to 2 years.
  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they are set only after Accept. Elsewhere they are set on your first visit and deleted when you press Reject.
  • Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
  • The site sets no other cookies. Fonts, styles and images come from nyen.cc. The only outside script is Google's gtag.js.

Each request to nyen.cc records your IP address, the time, the path, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser's user-agent string.

The log is used to run the server and to detect abuse. It is not combined with other data, not used for profiles and not shared. It is deleted after at most 15 days, unless an entry is needed to investigate an attack.

The site keeps these values in your browser. They are not sent to the server. Clear site data for nyen.cc to remove them.

  • nyen.mint.[ticker] (local storage): the steps of a token or NFT creation, so it can continue after a reload.
  • nyen.mint.nft.pending (local storage): the NFT being created.
  • nyen.mint.progress (local storage): the progress bar position of the current creation.
  • nyen.consent (local storage): your cookie choice and its date. The banner asks again after 12 months or when this policy's consent version changes.
  • Pages, fonts, scripts, styles and images.
  • nyen.cc/v1: chain height, blocks, create fee, tokens, holders and addresses, on / and /tokens.
  • nyen.cc/api: create fee, name checks and creation status, on /mint and /nft.

On /mint and /nft the page talks to Nyen Wallet on your computer at 127.0.0.1:31419. This traffic does not leave your computer.

Artwork you pick on /nft is hashed in your browser and is not uploaded.

These hosts see your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply.

  • www.googletagmanager.com and *.google-analytics.com, on every page, for Google Analytics.
  • ipfs.io, when token or NFT metadata or an artwork link uses ipfs://.
  • The host in a token's logo link or an NFT's image link, when /tokens shows that image. Token creators choose these links.
  • The host in the artwork link you enter on /nft, when you press Check.

The NYEN node software joins a peer-to-peer network. This is separate from the website.

  • Your node connects to the seed node seed.nyen.cc and to other peers. Every peer can see your IP address.
  • Every block and transaction on the NYEN chain is public and permanent. Addresses are pseudonymous, not anonymous.
  • The seed node keeps a short connection log for the same reasons as the web server.

pool.nyen.cc and explorer.nyen.cc are run by the same project and keep the same kind of server log. Links in token metadata lead to other sites with their own policies.

The site is not directed at children.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. The server log is keyed by IP address and deleted after at most 15 days. Google Analytics data is not linked to a name. Send requests to the contact below.

Withdraw analytics consent at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. This deletes the _ga cookies.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: consent for analytics cookies. The cookieless pings sent before a choice and the server log rely on legitimate interest.

If the site starts to collect more than this, this page changes first and the date at the top changes.
